The haircut. The AC filter. The dentist. Watering the plants. Replacing the toothbrush. These repeat, but not on fixed dates: the next one depends on when you last did it. A calendar wants a fixed date. A habit tracker wants a daily streak. Neither fits, so these tasks live in your head until they nag you.
Again fills that gap. Tap done, and the next reminder schedules itself from that moment. It's built to sit alongside your to-do app (Google Tasks, Obsidian, Notion, whatever you use), not replace it: your to-do app handles one-off tasks, Again handles the ones that keep coming back.
The whole app is one gesture: tap to record the thing you just did.
Loops — recurring on your cadence, not a fixed date. "Haircut every 5 weeks": tap done after the haircut and the next one schedules five weeks out.
Dailies — daily things you want to check off. Vitamins, stretch, journal. Tap means "done today"; it resets at midnight.
Tallies — counters with no schedule and no goal. Meditation, push-ups, glasses of water. Tap is +1. No targets, no reminders.
Real recurrence isn't tidy. "Dental every 6 months, and every 2nd visit adds whitening." "Groceries every week, every 4th is the big Costco run." Again handles these with per-occurrence variants (override the title, notes, or emoji every Nth time), two recurrence modes (count from when you finished, or from a fixed due date), and seasonal sleep (a loop can hibernate over winter and wake itself in spring).
No badges, no streak-loss guilt, no XP, no confetti. Daily streaks show as a small informational chip, never as pressure. Tallies have no goals on purpose. The app is deliberately quiet.
Again works fully offline, with no account and no login screen. Optional cross-device sync is account-less and end-to-end encrypted: your phone generates a random ID, you link a second device with a QR scan, and your data leaves the phone as a blob the server can't read. No email, no password, ever.
The three modes, the home-screen widget, per-item reminders, calendar mirror, and JSON backup are all free. The only paid thing is optional cross-device sync ($9.99/year), which has real server costs. No ads, no upsells, no locked core features.
